על פניו, אין מדובר בעניין של ממש. אנו בשיאה של תקופה שמקדשת אוטומציה, פונקציונליות ובעיקר להשיג כמה שיותר בכמה שפחות- אין פלא אם כן, שרובנו מעדיפים את כרטיסי האשראי על פני הסרבול של מטבעות ושטרות. עם זאת, נדמה שהכסף המזומן נדחק לפינה חשוכה יותר משחשבנו, ויתכן שקרוב לא יישאר ממנו זכר. Finder האוסטרלית יצאה לבדוק את ממדי העניין באוסטרליה ובעולם המערבי בכלל, והנתונים, לגמרי מפתיעים. הארנק שלנו ותכולתו- כל מה שלא ידעתם….
מסתבר שהחזקת מזומנים היא אינה עניין של מה בכך, עד כדי כך שאחד מכל ארבעה אוסטרלים (כ4.4 מיליון אנשים), לא מסתובב עם אף דולר אחד בארנק .
בנוסף לאלו, 21% מהאוכלוסייה מסתובבים עם פחות מעשרה דולרים באופן קבוע- יחד עם חסרי המזומנים הטוטאליים, מתגלה שכמעט מחצית מהאוסטרלים לא ימצאו עם יותר מ10$ בארנקם!
עוד מגלה המחקר, כמה נפוצה החזקת כסף בשכבות הגיל השונות . בקרב בני גיל הזהב (59-70), המזומנים הם הנפוצים ביותר. סכום הדולרים בארנק ממוצע של אדם בגילאים אלו, עומד על יותר מ70$.
גם העניין המגדרי נחקר, ונמצא כי גברים סוחבים כמעט פי שניים מזומנים יותר מאשר נשים מאותו מעמד חברתי ובמצב סוציו-אקונומי דומה. מבין אותו פלח באוכלוסייה, המסתובב עם מעל 10$ בארנק, מחזיק הגבר הממוצע 74$ והאישה הממוצעת 44$.
התשלומים הדיגיטליים נוסקים מעלה בשכיחותם, עד לכדי כך בשנה האחרונה רק 37% מכלל התשלומים באוסטרליה בוצעו במזומן! אין מדובר במקרה פרטי, העולם המערבי כולו מתקדם באותה מגמה. בשוודיה לדוגמה, נמצא כי 85% מסך התשלומים הכולל בוצע באופן דיגיטלי.
ההפתעה הגדולה ביותר שמציג המחקר , קשורה דווקא בארנקים. סביר היה לחשוב, שלאחר הפרידה מהמזומן גם הפרידה מהארנקים לא תאחר לבוא. "אנשים רבים בוחרים לאכלס את האשראי שלהם במגן הטלפון ולא זקוקים לשום אמצעי אחסון נוסף" נמסר מאחד הבחירים מטעם חברת המחקר. האמנם?
הנתונים דווקא מראים אחרת! חרף העובדה שמחצית מהאוכלוסייה אינה נושאת יותר מכרטיס יחיד ובמקרה הטוב, גם כמה דולרים בודדים, 73% מהאוסטרלים מסתובבים עם ארנק באופן קבוע והזרוע עוד נטויה. "גבר ישראלי משקיע 174 ש"ח בממוצע בארנק, ויעדיף לרכוש ארנק עור שחור. רצוי גם שיהיה קטן אך שעדיין יוכל להכיל את כל שאמור ללא בעיה. על פי ההעדפות אלו השקנו לאחרונה קו ארנקים ייחודי של הרשת שהותאם בדיוק לגודלם של המטבעות והשטרות הישראליים ולהעדפות הצרכן הישראלי" מרחיב רז.
כאשר 55% מהישראלים מעדיפים ארנקים שחורים ו45% הנותרים חומים, מעדיפים אותם קטנים כמה שניתן ו35% מאיתנו יעדיפו אף ללא תא למטבעות.TOMMY HILFIGER, HUGO BOSS ולעתים גם כמתנות ממותגי היוקרה כמו MON BLANC- שוק הארנקים חי, נושם ועובד בקצב מהיר!
אולי הנחמה מצויה בכך שלפחות הארנקים ממש לא יעזבו בקרוב, או בכך שטרנדים באים והולכים, ואז חוזרים ,ואז נעלמים שוב רק לתקופה. אם גם אתם מודאגים מעתידה של שיטת התשלום העתיקה והטובה, זכרו שהסוסים המנצחים אף פעם לא מוחלפים , לפחות לא לגמרי.
