האיגוד לכירוגיה פלסטית פרסם את נתוניו לשנת 2018 המסכמים את כמות הניתוחים האסתטיים שנערכו בישראל. מהנתונים עולה עובדה ברורה – ניתוח הגדלת חזה הוא הניתוח הנפוץ ביותר ב-2018 מבין הניתוחים האסתטיים, פועל יוצא לעובדה כי הישראלים מעדיפים חזה גדול.
על פי הנתונים עולה כי במהלך שנת 2018 נערכו בישראל 8,861 ניתוחי הגדלת חזה, 3,561 ניתוחי הרמת חזה, 540 ניתוחים להגדלת חזה עם שומן עצמי, 1,954 ניתוחי הקטנת חזה בקרב נשים וכן 718 ניתוחי הקטנת חזה בקרב גברים (גינקומסטיה).
עולה עולה נערכו 2,782 ניתוחים לשיחזור שד, 6,793 ניתוחים לשאיבת שומן לנשים ולגברים, 4,674 ניתוחי אף לנשים ולגברים, 3,739 ניתוחים להרמת עפעפיים
, 3,263 ניתוחים למתיחת בטן לנשים ולגברים, 1,258 ניתוחים למתיחת פנים, 760 ניתוחים להרמת גבות ו-407 ניתוחי אוזניים.
